We are happy to release yet another incredible work of music! John Caceci (member of Hubble Mountain) has combined his love for guitar playing and appreciation of a diverse range of music to craft "The Gettin' Place." The result is a culmination of material put together by Caceci over the last year and a half; the songs were primarily recorded by Caceci in his bedroom from Winter 2010 - Spring 2011. The songs recall the diverse sounds only indie-pop can provide. Darker tones shift the gears but never derail the pop-sensibility of great hooks and rhythms. Caceci plays every instrument recorded with additional help by Chad Carvey on synthesizer & a sample from the 60's psychedelic era.
Boathouse is bringing out the big guns on June 18th!
We are curating the first ever Folknrocker showcase.
Folknrocker is a new website & music showcase that puts bands together, records them and shares them with the world. Since Boathouse is all about sharing our tunes with the world we though that this would be a perfect fit. The showcase will feature unique performances from the Boathouse family of artists and friends. The Allupons are stripping down and playing a 'folk influenced' set. These are a Fisherman's Favorite Dreams will be playing their first live concert in support of toil. The Rebates will be playing a special acoustic set, Lauren Rubin will be preforming live for the first time ever in support of her new project Tiny Fevers. Cary Goldberg will be opening the set with some new material, and there is a special guest in the works. We hope you can make it, it is going to be a very special evening.
Saturday June 18th @ The Clash Bar, 39 Harding Ave, Clifton, NJ (9pm)
We would like to introduce the newest addition to the Boathouse family, Colony!
The five-piece band from New Jersey has been recently finished work on their debut self-titled album and will be hosting their album release party this Saturday at the Clash Bar in Clifton, NJ with the support of Go Falcon! and Boathouse acts The Allupons and The Junior Classic League.
Colony has a unique sound that can somewhat be described as taking the structural sensibilities and instrumentation of post-rock, the soul of folk/blues, amplified by the energy/desperation of punk and metal and then throwing it all into a big blender of spastic psychedelia.
